Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) Curricula Development and Training Delivery

BEH designed a SDoH Training-the-Trainer curricula through the lens of the principles of harm reduction. BEH's curricula and training manuals incorporated the lived experience of individuals experiencing substance use disorder, in particular those with co-occurring opiate use and mental illness. The Training-the-Trainer curricula was delivered to Master Trainers representing the health and public safety sectors in a 2-day workshop. The training provided Masters Trainers with 1-hour, 3-hour and 6-hour curricula and training manuals to train frontline service providers in their respective jurisdictions on the SDoH of the opioid epidemic. Following the workshop, BEH offered a technical assistance webinar to the Master Trainers ensuring access, understanding and competence with training materials.
